Sharon Almeter McCants was born February 1, 1960 in Bainbridge, Georgia to the late Mr. Quincy Lee McCants and Mrs. Lula Kate McCants. She joined Ford Chapel AME Church at an early age. She attended Redeeming Faith Church regularly for as long as her health and strength allowed. She graduated from Bainbridge High School. She was a member of the Bainbridge High School Marching Band and excelled at playing the flute. After graduation she attended Albany Technical College with an emphasis on Clerical Administration. In her spare time, she loved to crochet. Sharon was always more concerned with helping others and always placed others before herself. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She passed away with her children by her side on June 20, 2020. She is preceded in death by (1) Sister; Patricia Ross and (2) Brothers; Larry Clemmons and Clarence McCants. Sharon leaves to remember and cherish her love, one Son; Jamichael McCants and one Daughter; Nikita McCants, both of Bainbridge, Georgia; five Grandchildren: Janyla Williford, Dexter Williford Jr., Kamiya Williford, Brandon Smart Jr. and Jamichael McCants Jr.; six Siblings: Lee Roy Clemmons of Hollandale; Florida, Bertha Harper (Eddie) of Acworth, Georgia; Pamela Thomas of Bainbridge, Georgia; Melanie McCants of Union City, Georgia; Henry Marshall and Willie Gary Marshall of Bainbridge, Georgia; two Aunts; Margaret Simmons and Dorothy Robertson of Bainbridge, Georgia; two Uncles; Walter Fudge of Bainbridge, Georgia and Alvin Fudge of North Carolina; one Grandfather; Vasti Anderson of Bainbridge, Georgia. Additionally, her memory will be celebrated by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
