Shaamontei Jakaharis Isaialian Garrett, known by most people simply as Jay, son of Samuel Lee Garrett III and Katrina Pollard Williams, was born as the second oldest on May 19, 1999 in Bainbridge, Georgia. Jay confessed Christ at a young age, he began his journey with the Lord at God’s Temple of Holy Praise #2 under the Pastoral Leadership of Pastor Ervin Flanders. He received education in the Decatur County Public Schools, graduating from Bainbridge High School in the Class of 2018. After high school, he joined the National Guard Army Reserves and remained active for two years. He was currently attending Southern Regional Technical College at the Bainbridge campus for Registered Nurse (RN). He was employed at Home Depot in Bainbridge, Georgia for the past seven months as a Lumber Associate. Jay was his brother's keeper and a loyal friend to many. His heart was full of love and compassion. He would help anyone he could. He was an outgoing and brilliant person. He peacefully departed from this life on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at the age of 21. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Lucy Williams and both grandfathers, Isaac Pollard, Jr. and Lil E. Hartsfield. His beautiful life will forever be cherished by his loving parents, Katrina Pollard Williams (Vashone, Sr.) of Donalsonville, Georgia; his father, Samuel Garrett, III (Ashley) of Greenwood, Florida; nine brothers, Trey, Jordan, Tyibrail, Vashone, Jr., Deshawn, James, Jaquez, Quatavious and Jocarian, four sisters, Lashawn, Destiny, Shan and Mariah, a special grandmother whom he lived with and loved like no other, Geraldine Pollard, a special aunt that he was close to, Chineka Garrett, two special friends, Morgan Kelly and Haily Grant and a host of other grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
