Ruby Walker Obituary

Ruby Lee Walker was born on June 14, 1936 to Elmus Barber, Sr. and Willie V. Gilford in Edison, Georgia. She was one of two children reared in her family. Ruby attended school in Calhoun County Georgia. At an early age she accepted Christ as her personal savior and was baptized. She attended church in Edison along with her family who were God fearing people who believed in being of service to others. Later she joined Second Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Attapulgus, Georgia, where she worked tirelessly and worshipped there until her health declined. Ruby was a loving devoted wife to Isiah Walker for many years and to this union five children were born; Mary, Ruby, Linda, Gloria and Isiah. She loved her family with all of her heart. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She worked as a homemaker for many years and also for Elberta Crate Factory in Bainbridge, Georgia until she retired. Ruby slipped into eternal rest and accepted the Master’s call on April 6, 2020 at Bainbridge Memorial Hospital.
Ruby is at peace now with God, rejoicing in her heavenly home. Preceding her journey home were her parents, Elmus Barber, Sr. and Willie V. Gilford, her husband, Isiah Walker, Sr., and her brother Elmus Barber, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory; four loving dedicated daughters, Mary L. Hundly, of Bainbridge, GA, Ruby D. Ingram, Linda (Earl) Campbell and Gloria Harrell all of Attapulgus, GA, and one supportive son, Isiah (Diane) Walker, Jr., of Albany, GA. One sister-in-law; Aretha Barber of Donalsonville, GA. Sixteen grandchildren; Jewayne Ingram, Antonio Ingram, Jason Ingram, Kevin Ingram, Phillip Mosley, Chris Jenkins, Gerald Tripp, Tracy Worthy, Cedrick Campbell, Teresa Campbell, Samantha Campbell, Tremayne Campbell, Tasha Campbell, Devery Murphy, Angie Murphy and Tyler Harrell. Twenty great grandchildren; Aikeem, Tamera, Asharia, Jayceon, Kierra, D’Naya, Jamal, Aiden, TJ, Tykia, Trey, Jaylin, Justin, Trinity, K’osha, Justis, Jaheim, Tray, Paris and Pierre. And a host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nephews, great nieces, relatives and friends.
