Michael Bell, Sr. Obituary

Michael Anthony Bell, Sr. was born to the late Mr. Herbert Bell, Sr. and Mrs. Claude Bell in Seminole County, Georgia on September 23, 1960. He was affectionately known as "Red" or "Doc" by those who knew and loved him well. God called our dear loved one home on June 5, 2020 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. While we will miss him dearly on this side, we rejoice that Michael is finally home, where he has received his rest and now sees our glorious and loving Savior, Jesus Christ, face to face! Michael accepted Christ at an early age and joined Cypress Pond Missionary Baptist Church in Iron City, GA. Later, he became a member of New Corinth M.B. Church in Iron City, GA where he served faithfully under Reverend Cleveland Sanders, Pastor. Michael found his place in the house of God and served for years as a deacon and was president of the choir until his health declined. Michael was educated in the Seminole Training School System in Donalsonville, GA. His primary occupation was that of a carpenter, but during his earlier years, he worked at Dickies and DeRose in Bainbridge, GA. Michael's true passion was singing and he touched the hearts of many with his anointed voice. Growing up, Michael could be heard singing with his various family members. With his brothers and a cousin, he sang in a quartet called The Country Boys and later he formed a group with his sisters called The Bells of Harmony. His legacy of song lives on as he sang and recorded with Karen Washington and the New Singing Star's on the album, 'Jesus is My Everything.' While working at DeRose in Bainbridge, Michael met the beautiful Eloise Sapp. After dating for several years, Michael proposed and married the love of his life. Eloise was a caring and devoted wife in sickness and in health, true to the vows they exchanged on September 20, 2000. Michael was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Mr. Herbert and Mrs. Claude Bell; his grandparents, Mr. Oz and Mrs. Maybell Williams and Mr. Major and Mrs. Wynola Bell; his mother-n-law, Carrie Sapp, three sisters, Evelyn Murrell, Myra Smith, and Alisa Bell; one brother, Joe Bell; several aunts and uncles and other relatives. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife, Eloise Bell; four sons, Michael Bell, Jr., Ershell Bell, Mario Bell, and Dexter Chukes; three grandchildren, Jayvion Barber, Tyrese Jackson, and Mikale Bell; one great-grandchild, Masiah Bell; five god-children, Naomi Jackson, Caleb McDowell, Shawanna Washington, Paris Greene, and Harilyn Kinder; two sisters, Linda Hartsfield and Tyheshia Womack (Daniel); two brothers, Herbert Bell and Patrick Bell; one uncle,Shelley Moore (Shirley); sisters-in-law, Lemon Bell, Regina Bell, Katie Mae Sapp, Inez Carter (George), Lillie Jefferson (Thomas), Margaret Sapp, Shirley Tatum (Clarence); brothers-in-law, Robert Sapp (Geraldine), Walter Sapp (Lisa), Lawrence Sapp (Gladys); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved him dearly.

Michael is already missed by the many who loved him and his memory is cherished by us all. Michael would want you all to know that he is at peace and would encourage you to surrender to Christ. In this way, you will be able to meet again and glorify God together forever and ever.
