Master Ziyan Masi Dukes

Ziyan Masi Dukes, affectionately known as “Scrappy”,
nicknamed by his grandmother, Lisa Dukes and uncle
Brandon Hawkins, ”Squirt”, nicknamed by his cousin,
Teshawn Dumas and “Mama Doot”, nicknamed by his loving
mother Quadasia Dukes. He was the only son born to
Quadasia LaTrail Dukes on October 28, 2022 in Bainbridge, GA.
Ziyan, who left this world on September 27, 2024 at the tender
age of 1 year, lived his life with a joyful curiosity and a fearless
spirit that brought endless smiles and laughter. He is preceded in
death by his great-grandfather Rev. William Sales and his cousin,
Yumeka Guy.
Ziyan filled our lives with boundless love, joy, and laughter. His
bright eyes, infectious smile and gentle spirit touched all who were
blessed to know him. He was a beautiful gift from God. Though his
time with us was brief, He brought immeasurable happiness to his
mother Quadasia and his entire family. Ziyan showed us the true
meaning of love and reminded us to cherish every moment. The
impact of his presence will be felt forever in the hearts of those who
loved him. Ziyan’s memory will live on in the love he gave and the
light he brought into the lives of his family and friends.
Ziyan leaves to cherish his memories his loving mother Quadasia
Dukes, a god-sister Koaa Grant, his adoring grandmother Lisa
Dukes, grandfather Tyrone Jackson; god grandfather Terry
Cunningham; great grandmothers Annie Dukes and Minnie Sales;
god parents Derrell Dukes Jr. and Koiya Rolley, both of whom loved
him as their own; aunts Shanika( Brandon) Hawkins, who was
known as Mama Te-Te because she wanted to set herself from the
other aunties; Cherelle( Antonio) Jacobs; Chasity Dukes ; and uncle
Terelle Dukes. Great aunts and uncles; Derrell (Latisha) Dukes;
Tomiko (Athenia) Rogers-Dukes; Rickey Dukes; Michael
(Antionette) Dukes; Tony Shouman; Tammy Sampson, Stephanie
Sales; Sharon (Reginald)Mobley; Nerisa Sales and Unetkia Sales;
Cousins: Two special cousins who treated him like a brother; Xavier
Brown and Xeronte’ Brown; Amari Wilcher, Jaden Jacobs, Antionio
Jacobs Jr., Makel Jacobs, and Jerrod Dukes. Special cousins and best
buds Lyrix Jacobs and Chase Perkins.
Though Ziyan is no longer in our arms, he will forever remain in our
hearts. We will find comfort knowing that God handpicked us to
spend almost 2 years with one of his special angels and we will
forever cherish the many memories that we were able to create in
such a short time.
