Mary Francis Hicks was born in Alabama on December 8, 1925 to the late Rena Hicks Carter, she was raised in Bainbridge, Georgia during her childhood well into her adult life where she gave birth to her only son, Ernest James Fountain, Sr. she was preceded in death by a devoted daughter-in-law, Flora L. Fountain
Mary Francis united with the Greater Macedonia M.B. Church as a young woman. She was married to the late Julius Flowers/ Mary lived many years in Tampa. Florida where she was the caregiver for her mother and other family members. She later returned to her hometown and reunited with her home church, the Greater Macedonia M.B. Church where she served faithfully until her health prevented her from attending. She had a smile that brightened every room she entered. She was known for her cooking, her Mac & Cheese and cakes would melt in your mouth. She loved the lord and her children, the lord blessed her with over 100 years of life well served in his name. Mary Francis was called home on May 13, 2026 at 11:15pm at the Bainbridge Memorial Manor.
Mary Francis leaves to cherish her most loving and precious memories, her loving and devoted son, Earnest James Fountain, Sr, a goddaughter, Eva Pearl Evans. Grandchildren: Gary, Christopher, Patrick, Sheena, and Earnest, Jr.(Angela), a sister-in-law, Eula Flowers, and a host of great-grandchildren and devoted church members and friends in Florida and Georgia.
