Mary Jane Brannon was born on January 27, 1922, in Decatur Co. GA, to the late John and Pally Moore Brannon. She departed this life on September 4, 2021, at Donalsonville Hospital at the age of 99. Mary attended Seminole County School System. After graduation, she became a wonderful caretaker for many years. She cared for many over the years and will forever be missed and cherished. Miss Brannon never married. She has 2 amazing family-oriented sons, Edgar P. Brannon (Angro Diamond) who preceded her in death and James T. Brannon, Sr. (Maggie Chrispen). Mary was a Christian woman. She was a member of Live Oak A.M.E. Church. She lived life quietly and love filled. She was without doubt one of those mentioned at Ps. 90:10 as having “special mightiness.” She did everything with love, finesse, and outstanding character. As it is often stated, “I will not complain.” She never did! Mary had a grand independent manner to her that was strong-willed and majestic; yet honest, humble, and unhurried. Her resilient grace was nothing short of magnetic. She had an aeipathetic view of life itself. Preceding her in death were both parents, (4) brothers, Lee E, Brannon (Annie Lou), Sammy Brannon (Mary), Joe Brannon (Louise), and Emmett Brannon, (3) sisters Rosie Miller (Buddy), Elizabeth Sargent (Harold) and Cherry Brannon. She is survived by both sons: Edgar (Headland, AL); and James and daughter-in-law Maggie, (Donalsonville, GA). She leaves to cherish grandchildren: Stephanie Parks (Samuel), Newnan, GA; Heddy Downs, Headland, AL; DeRhonda Brannon (Jay), Dothan, AL; Leslie Daniels (Phillip), West Chester, PA; Lillian Brannon, Donalsonville, GA; Kenyota Brannon, James Brannon, Jr., Joi King and Julius King, all of Donalsonville, GA. She leaves 20 great grandchildren, 15 great-great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews including adorning nephew Jimmy Lee Brannon and many many other family and friends.
