Mamie Lee McCloud was born on April 22,1932 in Fairchild , Georgia to the late Mrs. Roberta Ward and Mr. Rossie Ward, She departed this earthly life on September 10,2023 at the Golden age of 91. Mamie loved the Lord at an early age she attended Pilgrim Rest M.B. Church and later on in her adult life She became a Faithful member of Ephesus Seventh Day Adventist Church in Hempstead, New York, After moving back home to Georgia, she became a Faithful member of Ephesus Seventh Day Adventist Church in Bainbridge, Georgia. Mamie loved being in the service of the Lord where she served as head treasurer, head usher, assistant pianist and a deaconess of the church.
Mamie was educated in the public school system of Bainbridge, Georgia. After graduating high school she continued to further her education and attended cosmetology college in Albany, Georgia she graduated From Washington Beauty School in 1961 of Albany, Georgia and became a Beautician owning her own hair salon at Wards cafe for many years. Among her other occupations she worked at the Fox Theatre and Holiday Inn in New York, Campbell Soup Company in Camden, New Jersey and a domestic house worker in Bainbridge, Georgia and Philadelphia.
Mamie was a very kind hearted, loving, and caring person who loved her family and children so much as to become a Foster parent for 12 1/2 years with 15 foster children in her care.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron McCloud, one daughter, Nina Broadnax, one son Billy Ward Sr and three brothers: Harry Ward, JC Ward and Rossevelt Ward, and two grandchildren: Tamika Broadnax Perkins and Nicolas Broadnax.
She leaves to cherish her loving memöry three daughters: Sandra Watson, Theresa McCloud and Shirley Spells all of Bainbridge, Georgia. A special niece Dorothy Ward McNeal of Bainbridge, Georgia, Twelve grandchildren: Dontavious Watson, Terrance Watson, Lerone Broadnax Sr, Shanee Broadnax Jones, John Broadnax. Billy Ward, Jr, Datril Ward, Kimberly Ward, Jasmine Spells, Corey Spells, Archangeles Ward and Zachary Ward. Twenty nine great grandchildren and a host of other relatives.
