Maggie Lee Jones was born on August 9, 1934 to the late Richard Byrd and Aggie Fedd Byrd in Early County, Georgia.
A Time To Marry
Maggie was United in Holy Matrimony to the late S.J. Jones and to this union two children were born. She had one son prior to this union.
A Time To Work
Maggie worked for Seminole Wilderness Club for over 20 years until her health began to decline in 2013.
A Time To Rest
Maggie parted this life on Sunday, August 29, 2021. She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Aggie Byrd; her husband, S.J. Jones; her son, Andrew Byrd; her daughter, May Ann Jones; her grandson, Shannon Jones; her great-granddaughter, Dejah Anderson; three sisters, Joyce Walker, Neter Mae Dollar and Ruthie McNeil; and her brother, Richard Byrd, Jr.
A Time To Mourn
Maggie leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Roberta Florence (Jay) of Bainbridge, Georgia; two sisters, Irene Thrash of Atlanta, Georgia; Bonnie Orange of Willingboro, New Jersey; nine grandchildren, five of whom she raised as her own, Victoria Anderson (Randy), Tyrone Jones, Latasha Jones all of Bainbridge, Georgia; Samantha Jones of Savannah, Georgia; Gerard Anderson (Sherika) of Tallahassee, Florida; twenty-five great grandchildren, two of whom she helped raised, Jermaine Jones and Destiny Lofton; three great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and many other sorrowing relatives and friends.
