Lillie Jefferson Obituary

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

“Well Done Thou Good and Faithful Servant”

Sister Lillie Mae “Lady/Granny” Sapp-Jefferson was born March 17, 1946 in
Attapulgus, Ga to the late Robert Sapp, Sr and the late Carrie Sapp. She was
affectionately known by most as “Lady” and by her grandkids and some as “Granny”.
Lillie received her formal education through the Decatur County school system at
Mt. Moriah High School in Attapulgus, GA. Lillie was joined in Holy Matrimony to
her loving husband, Thomas Jefferson.
She was blessed with 7 children: Regina Jenkins, Tonya Sweet, Barrette Jackson, Sr,
and Thomas Laron Hamilton. Jennifer Carroll, Franklin Carroll and Christopher
Hamilton preceded her in death.
Our dearly beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, god-mother, sister,
aunt, cousin, friend, and most devoted wife Lillie Mae transitioned from her earthly
life on Friday, January 27, 2023, she was surrounded and supported by her loving
family.
Lillie accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at an early age and joined
Smith Grove Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership/Pastorate of the late
Reverend David Clemons, Presiding Leadership/ Pastorate Carter L. Hickman where
she served as a faithful member who loved the Lord and made sure her children were
raised in a Christian home. Lady was the lead vocalist in the Smith Grove Sr. Choir
she served as President and wardrobe coordinator. Lady continued to share the
anointing of God through her angelic voice. Lady was a seamstress. She retired from
Georgia Industries for the Blind. Lady enjoyed singing in the church choir, watching
African movies, watching YouTube videos and connecting with family and friends on
other social media platforms like Facebook/WhatsApp. She would be on her
cellphone in the early and late hours of the day. She enjoyed helping others and
spending quality time with her husband, children, grandchildren, & great
grandchildren, sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, God-children, cousins, and other
loving relatives.
Lillie will be fondly missed. Lifetime memories will forever be cherished but never
forgotten by her devoted husband, Thomas Jefferson, Children: Regina Jenkins
