Leo “Lucky” Miller, Sr as he was affectionately Known was born to the late Mr. Raymond Nelson Isaiah Miller, Jr and the late Mrs. Dorothy Bell Ware Miller in Donalsonville, Georgia. He attended public schools in Decatur County, Georgia. He worked in logging during the summer while out of school on break. Later in life he became a certified nursing assistant; this was a passion of his. He later changed careers and became a supervisor at Sunnyland Meat Packers in Madison, Florida until the doors closed. He last joined the circus and worked for them for 10 years until his health began to fail him. Leo was aman of very few words, but very strong and firm. He spoke his mind. He meant what he said and no one challenged him. God saw he was getting tired and told him to take his rest and that his labor was over. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Raymond Nelson Isaiah Miller, Jr and Mrs. Dorothy Bell Ware Miller, Four sisters: Mary Lois Clark Miller, Bobbie Jean Miller Davis, Sharon Willet Miller Holland, and Barbara Miller McNair. One brother, Nathaniel Miller, two nephews: Frederick Miller and Bradley Miller, one great nephew, Jayvon Rodgers Paternal grandfather, Mr. Raymond Nelson Isaiah Miller, Sr, Paternal grandmother, Mary Lou Ella Miller, Maternal Grandfather, John Henry Ware, Sr, Maternal Grandmother, Brownie Mae Backey, and grandma Stella Mae Bryant Jones. He also leaves behind to cherish his memories, two sons: Christopher Sherome Miller of Tallahassee, Florida and Leo(Krista)Miller Jr of Lakeland, Florida. The love of his life, Cyestal McClendon of Tallahassee, Florida, and a special friend, Miss Brenda Roberts of Bainbridge, Georgia. Three nephews he raised as his own sons: Larry Rodgers, Kenneth Rodgers, and Pedro Miller. Two very special nieces; LaVertae Marshall of Atlanta, Georgia and Landorekia Williams of Bainbridge, Georgia, four sisters: Virginia Cody of Cairo, Georgia, Mary Louella Mennette of Colquitt, Georgia, Edith Wyien Miller of Bainbridge, Georgia and Gloria Miller Tenson of Blakely, Georgia, Eleven brothers: Morris Miller Sr. of Cairo, Georgia, James Miller, David Miller, Willie Jackson, Thomas Igles Jr., all of Blakely,Georgia, Erwin(Janet)Miller, Sr., Marvin(Mary)Jackson both of Bainbridge, Georgia, Jerald Manwell Miller, Sr., of Augusta,Georgia, Lynwood Miller, Sr. of Anchorage, Alaska, Tony(Veronica) of Auburn, Alabama, Lorenzo Igles of Arlington, Georgia, one aunt, Annie Kate Mcintyre and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, aunts, and uncles! If I've missed anyone, I'm truly sorry! OH YEAH! Larry J. Rodgers, Sr. you'll always be his brother in law as he often said.
