Lauretta Lindsey Randolph was born December 25, 1951 in Seminole County to Classie Lindsey and
Charles Jackson. Lauretta accepted Christ at the tender age of nine and joined New Corinth Missionary
Baptist Church in Iron City, Georgia.
After graduating from high school, she attended George C. Wallace College in Dothan, Alabama where
she received credentials to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. For most of her career she worked at
Bainbridge State Hospital upon their closure she transitioned to Seminole Manner Nursing Home.
Lauretta loved attending church and her pets. Most of all she truly enjoyed spending time with her
family and friends.
Lauretta departed her earthly life on July 20, 2024 peacefully at her daughter’s home in Columbus,
Georgia. She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving children: Melonese (Rodney) Close of Columbus, Georgia;
David Lee Stanyard Jr. of Iron City, Georgia; Erica (Terry) Martin of Childersburg, Alabama. A sister,
Johnnie Roberts of Albany, Georgia and a brother Charles Jackson of Rochester, New York; one grandson
Jackson B. Close; a special friend Alexander Vickers and other relatives and friends.
