A Time to be born:
Our beloved, Husband, Father, Brother and Friend was born on February 15,1956 to the late John Ellis Ray,Sr. and Lucille Wright.
A Time to build up:
During an early age in life, John joined Newberry A.M.E Church. John received an Associate Degree in Electrical Wiring from Bainbridge College.
A Time to plant and a time to pluck up what has been planted: John was employed by:
● Shaw Industries for 27 years.
● Wayne Fryer Mobile Homes ( 2 years)
● Oakview Mobile Homes (2 years)
● John B. Sanfilippo & Son, Incorporated (2 years)
● He was the Owner and Proprietor of Ray’s Floor Care (35 years)
A Time to Love:
John married Donnis on September 18, 1978.
A Time to Embrace:
● John was the father of three children. Latash Y. Clark (Trent), Dezmonde Ray (LaTonya) and Iyona Kirbye Cooper.
A Time to Die:
On March 30th surrounded by the ones who loved him and the ones he loved the most Mr. John Ellis Ray, Jr. departed his earthly life and entered into peaceful, eternal rest.
A Time to Mourn:
John leaves to cherish his loving memory of a loving and devoted wife, Donnis Ray Jakin, GA. Three loving children Latasha (Trent) of Donalsonville, GA, Dezmonde (LaTonya) Donasonville, GA and Iyona Kribye Cooper of Bainbridge, GA. Twelve Grandchildren, who he absolutely adored, Trinity, Elantra, Dezmonde, Jr.(Pooh), Jwa, Jaliya, Ja’Kiyah, Inuyashi, Jaylen, Camorn (Red boy), Ja’Miracle, Quinton (Smoke) and Khylen. Two great-grandchildren: Brooklyn and Kaylee. Fourteen siblings: Doris Coachman, Nervena Adams, Lucille Thornton, James Lane, Wylene Lane, Eloise Lane, Mike Lane, and Shirley Ann Lane. Six preceded him in death Annie Pearl, Ezzie Rogers, Lenoard Ray, Otis C. Ray, Mattie Shorter and Walter Barnes. Two sister in laws: Mildred Rogers and Fredonia Ray. Two brother in laws: Otis George and Bobby Thornton. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends.
