Joe Cecil Rogers

Joe Cecil Rogers was born September 8, 1934 in Donalsonville, Georgia to Eva Nelson and Flozell Rogers. Cecil, as most of his family and friends called him, attended the public schools in Donalsonville, Georgia. He later moved to Bainbridge, Georgia where he met and later married Anna Mae Jeffery and to this union eight children were born; three children preceded him in death, Eddie James Rogers, Rachel Beecham and Peter Watson. He joined First A.B. Church in West Bainbridge, Georgia. Cecil worked at Scherman Trucking Company as a diesel mechanic for many years until his retirement. He continued to do mechanic work until his health began to fail. Cecil put up a good fight but God needed him more. He passed away at Bainbridge Health and Rehab on Monday, February 15, 2021. He leaves to cherish his memories, his daughters, Elizabeth Collier of Atlanta, Georgia; Carol Rogers of Bainbridge, Georgia; Monique Travis of Thomasville, Georgia; Ashley Scott of Bainbridge, Georgia; and Crystal Watson; sons, Cecil Rogers ( Marianna) of Dallas, Texas; Herbert Rogers (Lisa) of Bainbridge, Georgia; Larry Rogers (Gwen) of Valdosta, Georgia; Ronald Rogers of Moultrie, Georgia; Theodore Rogers of Bainbridge, Georgia; Nicholas Johnson of Athens, Georgia; Christopher Scott of Bainbridge, Georgia; twenty-six grandchildren, twenty-eight great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, one brother-in-law, Charles Jeffery (Christine), one sister-in-law, Carrie Jeffery and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.
