Joann Smith

Joann “Sledge” Smith, the daughter of the late Ludine McKinley and Bill Smith was born on November 30, 1953. In accordance with our heavenly father’s plan, on Friday, October 17, 2025 she departed her fulfilled earthly life. She confessed to Christ at an early age. Sister Joann joined Cypress Pond Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Larry Norton. Joann was preceded in death by one daughter, April Smith; one great granddaughter, Kennedi Smith; ten siblings, Jerry Smith, Ulysses Smith, Rubin Smith, Larry Smith, Talmadge Smith, Bernice Smith, Diane Smith, Vonda Smith, Lottie Smith and Sherry Ann McKinley. Joann leaves to cherish her memory, four children, Gloria Reynolds (Mansonic) of Cedar Spring, Ga., Chrisandra Williams (Theneatric) of Donalsonville, Ga., Tamika Smith (Calvin) of Iron City, Ga., and Jonathan Smith of Commerce, Ga.; eighteen siblings, Lillie Wade, Dorothy Green, Geraldine Smith, Shirley Ann Leonard, Renee Leonard, Betty Perkins, Dola Smith, Lannie Sue Chrispen, Beverly Kimble, Essie Evans, Josephine Smith, Geneva Bynum, Annie Pearl Smith, Eddie Frank McKinley, Jackie Johnson (Carolyn), Ervin Smith (Bobbie), James Brannon (Maggie), Billy Leonard (Rose); eleven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
