Jerome Kenneth Baldwin, affectionately known as, “Mountain Dew” was the first son born to Mr. Rufus C. Baldwin and Mrs. Eula Mae “Lurry” Baldwin. Mrs. Baldwin departed this life on the wings of angels and was buried on November 5, 2011. Jerome graduated from Hutto High School in 1973. He attended Bainbridge Junior College studying electronics, then entered the United States Armed Forces in 1975. Jerome became a member of the Lamar Street Church of Christ during his teenage years and worked diligently in the Church’s Tape Ministry. After his military experiences, he moved back to Bainbridge and continued with the work he was doing in church. After a few years, he moved to Atlanta. We all use to love going to Atlanta in the late 70’s and early 80’s because Jerome would ride us all over the City and take us out to eat at some of the best restaurants. In the early 90’s, Jerome moved back to Bainbridge and worked at the Baldwin’s Television & Radio Repair Shop where he remained untiled he moved back to Atlanta, Ga in the late 90’s and remained there until his earthly body was returned to Bainbridge to be funeralized on today. Jerome leaves to mourn his departure, two daughters, Rosetta and Crystal Wakefield, four grandchildren, Jayla Wakefield, Jayden Scott, Ja’Kye Brown and Travis Brown; a 91 year old Father, Rufus C. Baldwin; four sisters, Elizabeth Ann Dickerson (Marvin), Carolyn Jean Brown (Samuel), Gail A. Johnson, Trynni A. Williams (Curtis); two brothers, Gregory D. Baldwin (Deborah) and Darrel A. Baldwin (Ethel); and a host of nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
The Lord has called Jerome home for rest because he was a good person who had been his family’s hero, provider, and friend who kept family and friends laughing to tears with his funny jokes and nicknames. Our tears of pain and remembrance are our expressions of love for JEROME KENNETH BALDWIN. Rest on our beloved.
