Sister Jeanette Deloris Mayberry Smiley was born on August 26, 1938 in Decatur County, Georgia to the late Mr. George Mayberry Sr. and the late Mrs. Hattie Mae Wilson Mayberry. She departed this earthly journey on Monday, January 25, 2021 at the age of eighty-two. She accepted Christ at an early age and became a faithful member of Nelson Chapel A.M.E Church in Bainbridge,Georgia. She sang in the choir, taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School. Sis. Smiley was known for her musical talents. She played piano for several choirs in the church and was active in several auxiliaries. Sis. Smiley graduated from Hutto High School in 1957. She furthered her education at Edward Waters College (Jacksonville, Fl.) majoring in Music Education. After graduating with her B.S. degree, she went on to acquire higher degrees in the field of music. Sis. Smiley later pursued a career in the field of education teaching either music or reading. She retired from the public schools of Florida. She was a member of the Pride of Bainbridge Order of Eastern Star. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Starlin Kimberly Mayberry Hutchins. Sis. Jeanette Mayberry Smiley leaves to cherish her precious memories: her grandsons, Derrick DaShawn Hutchins, James Williams Hutchins, Jr. and Michael Deon Hutchins; great grandchildren, Keasha Herring, Jamari Mosley, Jamie Janae Hutchins, Melissa Washington, Kayshawn Hutchins, Julius Hutchins, Zoryinna Bell, Daviontae Bell, Derek Davis, Mikyla Henry, Jaxvier Madge, Kyree Bell and Joel Gilmore; a brother, Charles “Chuck” Hall; and a host of family and friends.
