Janet Elise (Simmons) Chandler

Janet Elise Simmons Chandler was born on January 10,
1954 to the late Bennie Lee Simmons and the late Catherine Strawter Williams in Havana, Florida. She was reared in McCrayville, Georgia by her paternal grandparents, the late Sandy Simmons and Rose Simmons. She was a 1972 graduate of Mt. Moriah High School and furthered her education at Thomasville Tech with a degree in Secretary. She began her career as an Accountant with the Florida Department of Education and later with the Florida Department of Health. She retired after 32 years of service to enjoy the fruits of her labor. She married the late James Beauford in 1973 and to this union, two children were born, Natalyne and Carlos. Later she met and married the love of her life, James Chandler on September 29, 1984 and together they reared their children. She leaves to cherish her memory, loving husband: James Chandler of Havana, Florida; a devoted daughter: Natalyne Zanders (Darryl) of Quincy, FL and a devoted son: Carlos Beauford of Thomasville, GA; two adoring grandsons: Nicholas Richardson and Jaylon Zanders both of Quincy, FL; seven sisters: Juanita Gaines of Grand Rapids, MI; Geraldine Tyson of Atlanta, GA; Linda Stafford of Havana, FL; Jeanine Simmons of Quincy, FL; Cindy Stevens of Austell, GA; Shirley Brown (Willie) of Tallahassee, FL and Chree Parris of McCrayville, GA; one brother: Patrick Simmons; step mother: Alberta Simmons of McCrayville, GA; two god daughters: Diedra Robinson (Dale) and Katia Simmons both of Tallahassee, FL; two uncles: Willie C. Simmons (Sarah) of McCrayville, GA and Jesse Strawter (Betty) of Havana, FL; one aunt: Alma Vickers of Havana, FL and one great aunt: Ida Simmons of McCrayville, GA; in- laws: Cleotha Chandler (Lawson) of Bainbridge, GA; Emmie Chandler (Mary) of Apopka, FL; Erick Chandler (Alver) of Hinesville, GA; Derick Chandler (Frances) of Sumter, SC; Lawson Chandler (Perry) of Bainbridge, GA; Terrence Chandler (Monica) of Ellenwood, GA; Toris Bass (Katrina), Caroline Chandler, and Sondra Chandler all of Bainbridge, GA; lifelong friends: Rose Carney, Delores Hall, Mary Harrison and her childhood best friend: Lois Baker and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
