James “Baldhead” Kirkland, Jr

James was born to the late James Kirkland, Sr and the late Catherine Reels Mims in Decatur County Ga. He was the 2nd of 4 siblings. He attended public school in Decatur County. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1980. He served 6 years being and was honorably discharged in 1986 as a Sergeant. 

 He United with the Greater Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church at a young age. He later united with Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church under the Pastorate of the late Rev. Edmond Howard Jr. James Served a Church Videographer until his health failed. James served faithfully working on any capacity. 

He was United in Holy Matrimony to the former Joyce Drew Kirkland on December 11,1992. He was employed for 22 years at Elbert’s Crate and box company as a shift supervisor and fork lift driver. He was an active member of Greater Works in the community and kids and cops. He was also known as The Greatest Die hard Georgia Bulldog fan. 

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 30 years. Joyce Kirkland; a son Jermicheal Kirkland of Climax Georgia; Three Sisters Betty(Robert)Mitchell, Nadine(Willie) Beard of Bainbridge Ga and Carrie Kirkland of Tallahassee Florida. Two brothers Frederick Kirkland of Bainbridge Ga and Reginald(Thomasine) Mims of Sanford Florida; Three Aunts Ruth Reels of Havelock,NC, Katie(Lester Burke) of Bainbridge Ga and Gladys(Alvin) Solomon of Boykin Beach Florida; Three Uncle Benjamin Reels of Philadelphia Pennsylvania, Larry Reels of Bainbridge Ga, Quinton Martin of Montgomery Alabama; Father in law Leroy Drew Sr. Of Boston Georgia, Lynn Drew of Atlanta Ga, Leroy(Teresa) Drew Jr of Bainbridge Ga, Michael (Sherror) Drew and Ray(Pamela) Drew all of Boston,Ga. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
