Henry David Moore Sr. was born to the late Dec. Lorenzo Moore Sr. and Sis. Itra Moore, on March 4, 1949. He attended school in Decatur County, where he graduated from Attapulgus Mount Moriah High school in 1967. He was employed at Amoco Fabric & Fibers for 15 years, until the business closed.
“David” as he was known to everyone, started his Christian journey at St. Thomas M.B. Church, where he accepted Christ at an early age. He was a musician at Wilson Chapel in Cairo, GA and Mt. Moriah # 1 in Attapulgus, GA. He played the piano for several choirs over the years, and was known to hold a “lengthy”conversation, if he saw you.
David and his wife, Betty were United in Holy Matrimony Aug. 1968. To this Union four children were born: Henry Jr., Sharon, Lekita and Jeanette Rene’.
David was called home on Dec. 21, 2025, and was preceded in death by his parents, Dec. Lorenzo Moore and Sis. Itra Moore, his brother, Earnest Woodard and Granddaughter, Maria Handsford.
He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted wife, Betty Moore. One son: Henry Moore Jr. (Tammie), Three daughters: Sharon Moore, Lekita Thomas (Erice) and Jeanette Rene’ Moore, all of Bainbridge, GA. Two sisters: Irene Barnes and Joann Conley, both of Fowlstown, GA., and one brother: Lorenzo Moore Jr., of Atlanta, GA. Nine grandchildren (Carlita, Isaiah, Deondre, Kierra, Alonya, Amaya, Aydan, Brittany and Jennifer). Eleven great grandchildren (Tyleah, Andrew, Azaiah, Azalea, Ariana, Aaron Jr., Aaliyah, Adam, Bett, Tori and Kylie) and a host of neices, nephews, cousins and friends.
We will love and miss you forever, take your rest dad, granddad, brother and uncle, from your family.
