Gertrude Denise Keaton, 62, of Bainbridge, Georgia passed away Sunday, March 14, 2021 surrounded by family. She was born to the late Elijah and Rosie Kirkland on July 29, 1958 in Bainbridge, Georgia. Gertrude was a graduate of the 1976 Class of Bainbridge High School. She continued her education to later received a certificate in Information and Office Technology from Bainbridge College in 1999. She married Curtis Keaton, Sr. on June 28, 1986. Gertrude was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, cousin and a friend to so many. She enjoyed reading, traveling and spending time with family. To know her was to love her because of her sweet spirit. When she wasn’t feeling well no one noticed because she always smiled. She had the spirit that could brighten any room. She will truly be missed by her family. Gertrude is survived by her son: Curtis Keaton, Jr. of Bainbridge, Georgia; three grandchildren: Curtis Keaton III, Mekyia Keaton and Alexis Keaton; two sisters: Mary Harper and Mattie Edwards; four brothers: James Harden, Jr., Guan Kirkland, Jeff Deboes and Nolan Swain.
