Mrs. Ethel Mae Burns “Dump” was born on April 12, 1931 to the late Mr. Felix Thompson and Mrs. Fannie Mae Franklin Thompson. Ethel received her education in the Decatur County school system, she was a faithful member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church until her demise on January 5, 2024 at Memorial Hospital and Manor. Ethel loved helping others, she worked at Memorial Hospital for over 30 years.
Ethel was preceded in death by one son, Frank Thompson, a daughter, Deloris Burns, James Thompson, Johnny Lee Thompson, Jimmy Lee Thompson, Felix Thompson, Leo Thompson, Sr., Emmet Thompson, Sr., Lula Mae Jackson, Katie Warren, Bertha Beard, and Mildred Thomas
She leaves to cherish her memories, three sons: Charlie Brown, Jessie Brown, and Elijah Burns(Paula), all of Bainbridge, Georgia. One Daughter, Gail Jessie(Willie), of Bainbridge, Georgia, one sister, Betty Collins, of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
