Erma Jean (Mitchell) Lawrence

Mrs. Erma Jean Mitchell Lawrence is the daughter of the late Mr. Willie James Mitchell and Lodesta Mitchell. She was born on May 21, 1945 in Decatur County. She was married to the late Jake Lawrence, who preceded her in death. In this union, ten kids were born. One daughter preceded her in death, Michelle Lawrence Godwin. She gave her life to Christ at an early age under Pastor W.C. Wright at St. Mark M.B. Church. Then later served faithfully at Cornerstone Holiness Church under Pastor Allison. She was called home to be with the Lord on August 28, 2020 surrounded by her loved ones. She leaves nine children: Welchie Goggins of Anniston, AL; Shelia (Gerald) Johnson of Pelham, GA; Michael (Sharon) Lawrence of Baconton, GA; Bruce Lawrence of Bainbridge, GA; Eugenia (Rupert) Williams of Bainbridge, GA; Jim (Lisa) Lawrence of Baconton, GA; Titus (Marie) Lawrence of Pelham, GA; Katina Lawrence of Bainbridge, GA; Anthony Thompson of Leesburg, GA. She is preceded in death by brothers James Mitchell, Dave Mitchell, Mac Mitchell, and Doug Mitchell. She leaves behind three sisters Mary Jacobs of Bainbridge, GA; Annie Doris Wilson of Bayshore, New York; and Willie Merle Mitchell of Bainbridge, GA. She leaves seventeen grandkids, sixteen great- grandkids, and a host of nieces, nephews, and loved ones.
