Early B. Cosby was born on June 6, 1948 in Early County in Blakely, Georgia to Pearlie Mae and Claude Cosby, Sr. Early B. attended the public school system at Washington Consolidated High in Cairo, Georgia. At an early age, he joined St. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a member of the choir. He also sang with the Harmony Quintette of Cairo, Georgia. He worked at Coastal Lumber Company for many years. He also worked for Peavy and Son and Oxford Construction until his health failed. Early B. lived his life to the fullest, cherishing every moment. He was kind, fearless, funny and generous. He departed this life on Sunday, October 4, 2020. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Cherrann Cosby and one brother, Claude Cosby, Jr. Early B. is survived by his five children, Verlesia Cosby, Daphane Reed, Teresa Perkins, Marie Perkins and Tellisa Perkins; one special grandson whom he raised, Deterrius Perkins; thirteen siblings, Allen Cosby (Daisy) of Tallahassee, FL; Belle Clark (Ronnie) of McCrayville, GA; Merlene Reed (Aubry) of McCrayville, GA; Ella McGriff (Clemon) of Bainbridge, GA; Joseph Cosby (JoeAnn) of Calvary, GA; Eddie Cosby (Elizabeth) of McCrayville, GA; Mattie Varner (Frank) of McCrayville, GA; Bertha Smith (Greg) of Tallahassee, FL; Freddie Cosby of Bainbridge, GA; Teresa Butler (Michael) of Quincy, FL; Charles Cosby of Bainbridge, GA; Larry Cosby of Bainbridge, GA; Anthony Cosby of Bainbridge, GA; a special sister-in-law, Linda Rea Perkins who took care of him, fourteen grandchildren and a host of great grands, aunts, uncles, cousins and many good friends.
