Mother Dorothy Hines-Jackson affectionately known as Ms. Dot was born on February 7, 1940 in Climax, Georgia to the late Eddie and Frances Hines. Dorothy attended Decatur County Schools and graduated from Hutto High School in 1958. After graduating, Dorothy relocated to Miami, Florida where she established a life as a Certified Nursing Assistant. After retiring in 1991, she continued her journey of service at Gilbert’s Angels Sheyes Learning Center. Confessing Christ, Dorothy joined Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorage of the late Reverend Wilfred Miller, Jr. and Pastor Hall. Ms. Dot remained an active member, Financial Secretary and mother of Because of Him Ministry, Inc. She peacefully departed from this life on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at the age of 80. She was a devoted and loving mother to her only daughter, Regina Jackson. Dot enjoyed her life as a loving grandmother to Estrella, Reginald, Doretha, Famesha and Latoya. A doting great grandmother to Jayquan, ShyKeria, James, Jr., Rojanae, Ashanti, Dontasia, Phillip-Mychael, Patrick, Jr., Jacquan, Jr., Jaliyah, Marquis, Jr. Housten and Wale. She leaves her precious memories to her sister, Gwendolyn Hines and her three brothers, James, Dan and George Hines along with a host of nephews, nieces and loved ones. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Jackson, parents, oldest granddaughter, Vashawn and siblings.
