Dorothy (Reese) Brown

Dorothy Reese Brown was born September 4, 1952 to George and Oppie Lee Reese in Eastman, Georgia. She resided there with her grandparents until the age of 14. Later, her family relocated to Miami, Florida, where she received most of her education. She was employed at the Tiffany Hotel along with her mother and sisters. During this time, she met the love of her life, Mr. Jessie Lee Brown. To this union, five children were born. Wanting the best for her children and leaving her parents and siblings behind, in 1986, Dorothy relocated to Bainbridge, Georgia. She accepted Christ and joined Nelson Chapel AME Church of Bainbridge, Ga. Later, she joined the Mount Zion Church of Cyrene, Georgia. After several years, Dorothy and Jessie united in Holy Matrimony on August 5, 2010 in the presence of many family and friends. She was loved by her family, friends, and card playing buddies. Dorothy transitioned from labor to reward on June 13, 2020. She is preceded in death by her parents,George and Oppie Lee Reese; three brothers, Leon, Charlie, and Joseph (Gennie) Reese; two sisters, Annie Bark Reese Wilson and Willie Pearl Lacey (Chubby); and one granddaughter, Shaniya Coward. She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her husband, Jessie Lee “Jet” Brown; five children, Tony (Rosa), Michael (Jennifer), Norris Reese, Tashika Williams (Bobby Dale), Kizzie Brown; six siblings, Ralph, Learned, Ruth Elaine Reese, Alma Jean Brown (Robert), Joann (Joseph), Gladys Bowden (Johnny); one step-daughter, Savannah Brown; six grandchildren, LaShika, Tequila, Bobby, Dion, Keymond and LaNorris; six great grandchildren, Braylen, Chicono, Braylee, Lucifer, Bakari, and Brian; seven godchildren, several in-laws, beat friends, Evelyn Hughes, Nelly Davis, Gail Spann and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
