Dora Lee Rogers was born in Decatur County, Georgia to the late Rosa Bell Rogers and the late James Jackson on April 4, 1956. She confessed Christ at an early age at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church. She was educated in the Decatur County School system.
Dora Lee entered eternal Rest on Wednesday February 22, 2023, at the age of 66. She was preceded in death by one daughter Rosetta Rogers Thomas and four brothers, Harrison Rogers, Peter Rogers, Paul Rogers, and Alonzo Rogers.
Dora Lee loved her family and friends. She also loved fishing with her cousin Melva and Yvonne, putting jigsaw puzzles together and playing video games. She will be remembered for her caring and loving spirit and warm heart. She was always willing to help anyone in need.
She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Shivella (Michael) Shilo; ten grandchildren, Dexter (Terri Anne) Davis, Jerrick Kirksey Jr., Jeremy (Jessica) Kirksey, Jasmine Moore, Courtney Moore, Raheem Rogers, Michaela Shilo, Shimia Shilo, Ashalei Shilo, and Michael Shilo Jr.; sixteen great grand children, Dexter Davis Jr., Tozarria Davis, Kayla Davis, Kaden Davis, Ta’Jaiveyus Kirksey, Ja’Kaizeara Kirksey, Qa’TaizeyonKirksey, Aubree Kirksey, Remy Kirksey, Derrick Hallmon Jr., Cameron Jackson, Dora Moore, Rosetta Moore, Monica Moore, Amori Brown, Mariah Brown; two brothers; George (Marianne) Rogers, William Miller; one sister Cindy Miller-Parker; one special cousin who she considered to be a brother, Tony Shouman; a special nephew, Armond Miller; three sisters in law; Rose Curry, Patricia Rogers, and Shirley Ann Rogers; and a host of special nieces, nephews and cousins.
