Donald Desjardins age 79 of Donalsonville, Georgia passed away at his residence on June 4, 2020 after a long battle with dementia. Don was born on March 14, 1941 in York, Maine to Orel F. Desjardins and Florence Lytle Desjardins. Don attended school in both York, Maine and Manchester, New Hampshire. He served his country for a brief stint in the United States Army. He married Diana Burt in 1966. He later owned and operated Servpro, a carpet cleaning franchise, for five years. Don relocated to Florida in 1981 where he owned a handyman business until he was employed by Disney World as an experienced fiberglass technician. He worked in various positions within the company and his most favorite job was steam cleaning the promenade. Don received many accolades from his supervisors and retired from Disney after 18 years of service. During his tenure at Disney and in retirement, it gave him great pleasure to bring family and friends to Disney to experience Disney for free. Don enjoyed traveling to new places, going on ocean cruises and camping trips with family. His absolute favorite thing to do was to check out real estate which led to buying and renting out property. Don moved to Donalsonville, Georgia in 2000 to own and operate Seminole Sportsman's Lodge & Marina. At the same time,he also owned and managed CountrySide Estates mobile home park in Cairo, Georgia. Donald was a faithful member of the Spring Creek Baptist Church. Donald is survived by wife Diana Desjardins of 53 years, son David Desjardins, three grandchildren, and one sister Deborah Carmel. He is predeceased by his parents Orel and Florence Desjardins and two brothers Robert and Orel (Skip) Desjardins and one grandson.
