Curtis Lamar Wilson

Bro. Curtis Lamar Wilson was born on November 28,1978 in
Bainbridge, GA to Larry Wilson Sr. and Lenda Smart of Bainbridge, GA.
The Lord called him from his earthly home to his heavenly home on
September 20, 2022, in Columbus, GA. He is preceded in death by his
wife, Maurea Wilson.
He was a member of Morris Temple First Born Community Church. He
was born into the church and was baptized at a very early age. Curtis
loved the Lord. He loved people and helping them. He loved his family
and friends. His girls were precious in his sight, and he was teaching
them right.
He was educated in the Decatur County School System. He graduated
from Bainbridge High School in 1998 and enlisted in the United States
Navy where he served for 15 years. He had a 5 tour of duty. He served
the global war on terrorism, operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation
enduring Freedom as a Seabee. He earned numerals awards and
commendations. He was honorably discharged in 2015.
Curtis was an entrepreneur owning a trucking and landscaping
business. He graduated from Liberty University with a degree in
psychology and minor in addictions and recovery in May 2022 and he
was presently studying for his master’s degree.
He loved riding his motorcycle, entertaining his family and friends and
doing yard work. He was very versatile. He had the ability to do a
variety of different jobs.
He leaves to Cherish his memories three loving daughters, Lena
Wilson, Destini Wilson and Dakota Wilson of Columbus, GA; one son,
Devonte Robinson of Mobile, AL; his loving and devoted mother, Lenda
Smart; his father, Larry Wilson Sr; two brothers Retired Army
Sergeant Larry Wilson Jr. (Mae) of Jacksonville, FL; Amos Thornton
Phenix City, AL; Grandmother Willie Mae Smart of Bainbridge, GA;
Great Aunts, Lillian Knight of Bainbridge, GA, Grace Fitz(Jimmy) of
Ft. Lauderdale, FL; 6 Aunts, Earlyne Williams(Oliver) of Albany, GA;
Geraldine Collins (George) of Havana, FL; Janie James(Melvin) of
Miami, FL; Mary Garson of Bainbridge, GA, Christine Sanders (Murry)
of Bainbridge, GA and Gail Johnson(Wallace) of Bainbridge Ga; six
uncles, Osborne Pierce and R.B. Smart of Whigham GA; Eddie Smart of
Port St. Lucie, Florida; Jerry Smart of Ashburn, Georgia; Gary Darrisaw
of Bainbridge, Georgia; Tyrone Darrisaw of Bainbridge, Georgia; a
Godfather Curtis King; a host of nieces, nephew, cousins, military
family and sorrowing friends.
