Deacon Cornelius Duhart Jr., father, grandfather, brother, and uncle passed away August 14, 2020 at home. He was born May 26, 1949 to the late Cornelius Duhart, Sr. (Gladys Duhart) and Susie Mae Sims (James Mills). Cornelius attended Old Lincoln High School. As he began his career he spent many years working as a Patient Care Tech at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital as well as Tallahassee Community Hospital until he retired. Cornelius, well known for his loving, joyous spirit was known to many as “Duhart”,“Dubaby”, “Papa” and often called by his daughter “Sugga”, spent many years loving others as a Private Caregiver. He gave his heart to his profession known to him as his ministry. He was honored to have a book “Far from Ordinary” based on his caregiving services written by Prissy Elrod. Cornelius accepted Christ at a very early age at St. Stephens Missionary Baptist Church. He then continued to follow Christ and became an active Deacon at Union Branch Missionary Baptist Church up until his last breath. He also served as President as well as Vice President of the Choir and enjoyed overseeing the Pastor’s Anniversary annually. Cornelius also enjoyed being apart of Show Some Love Ministries. Cornelius was proceeded in death by his wife, CaSandra Duhart and one brother, Lucious (Claudette). He leaves to cherish his fond memories his children: Tina Flemming (Willie), Anthony Duhart (Latoya), Michael Duhart, Wanda Duhart-Harvey (Andre), and his step son: Jerome Hawkins, sisters: Sharon, Carol, Gail (James), Georgia, Mattie (Elmo), Felicia (Johnny), brothers: Curtis (Selisha), Willie (Calisa), Derrick, James (Alicia), David (Teresa), Keith, and Ronald. He also leaves behind the mother of his children and special friend, Iris Duhart, eighteen grandchildren, twenty-one great- grandchildren, one great-great grand and a host of nieces, and nephews as well as other family and friends.
