Mrs. Classie Mae Montgomery Rambo was born July 5, 1924 in Decatur County to the late Oscar and Mattie Montgomery. She was united in holy matrimony to the late William Thomas Rambo( W.T.). Classie grew up in an era wherein the ladies had to help attend to farm chores as well as the young men in the household. Classie often spoke of how she used to plow the fields with an ox from sunup to sundown. Classie gave her life to Christ at an early age as a member of New Salem Freewill Baptist Church of Bainbridge, Georgia. She graduated from Normal Union School June 2, 1944. She had two loving daughters and one stepson. Her lovely daughter, Catherine Miller, preceded her in death. On May 9, 2024 Mrs. Classie Mae Montgomery Rambo transitioned to the kingdom of God.
Classie had several siblings, eight sisters and three brothers. Four sisters and three brothers preceded her in death. Edith Pearl Middleton(Bainbridge), Lacy Davis(Rochester, NY), Ruby Montgomery(Rochester, NY), and Mary Nathan(Rochester, NY). She leaves to cherish her most precious memories: Wilhemina Mitchell(Johnny), Joshua T. Mitchell(Sherice) of Summerville, Georgia, Jonnathan R. Mitchell(Aubrie) Handford, CA, Sherina Mitchell Dowers of Tifton, GA, Joy Blackmon(Greg) of Huntsville, AL, Yolanda Dangerfield(Dawon) of Houston, Texas, Artis Rambo of Bainbridge, GA, loving nieces that assisted with her care: Sonja Pugh of Bainbridge, GA, Ruby Anderson(Jerry) of Bainbridge, GA, and Lily Hurst of Rochester, NY and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
