Chearick Darrell Miller, fondly called “Chedrick” by his loved ones was born on December 21, 1973 in Bainbridge, Georgia to Marian Miller and Rickey Benton. Chedrick attended Bainbridge High School and graduated in 1991. He later attended Chipola College in Marianna, Florida. Chedrick had a very normal childhood and acted as a protective brother. He loved his siblings and did everything to protect and guide them. One of his most likeable characteristics was his treatment of people. He treated everyone that he met with respect and kindness. Chedrick attended First African Baptist Church in Bainbridge, Georgia, and later in life rekindled his connection with our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Chedrick would speak daily with others regarding the goodness of Jesus Christ. His tenacity and tenacious love for our savior is a sight to behold and an example that we should all follow. Chedrick’s employment comprised working with the Marianna Correction Facility (law enforcement) and group homes for troubled youth. Chedrickalways had an entrepreneurial spirit. In the summer of 2014, he formed his own company, M.L.L.R.Incorporated, a venerated goal. Chedrick had and possess a passion for serving others. He was immensely proud of his company and encouraged others to start their own businesses. At the time of his passing, Chedrick was employed at HickmanTransport company based in Valdosta, Georgia. Chedrick had four children: a devoted son, Chearick, Miller Jr. “CJ”, Yaasminda, Kelsey, and Shantez. Chedrick was extremely proud of his children’s academic accomplishments. and a grandson: Jamie, all of whom he adored and cherished. Chedrick was extremely proud of his children attending and graduating from college. He always expressed the importance of education and the doors that education can open to not only his children but his nieces and nephews. He absolutely believed the key to unlock the doors to success comes through education. As a supportive father, he encouraged his children to reach for the stars.Chedrick reinforced the value of family, generational wealth and culture to the family. Chedrick was a diehard Dallas Cowboy and LA Lakers fan. He collected Cowboy and Lakers sports gear throughout his life. Chedrick also loved to fish and enjoyed that sport with some of his siblings over the years. Chedrick doted on his faithful dogs, Icon and spunky little J’Ouvert. He also had a passion for cooking and spending quality time with his family and friends. His niece nicknamed him Uncle Poochie and she had a fit if anyone else called him Uncle Poochie. Her reaction always put a big smile on his face. Chedrick loved to travel but he never had an opportunity to enjoy traveling as much as he would have liked. However, he did enjoy spending time at the beach in Pensacola. Chedrick leaves to cherish his memories his: loving parents, Marian Miller and Rickey Benton (Myra); children: Chearick Jr., (Danah), Yaasminda, Kelsey, and Shantez; grandson: Jamie; loving, devoted sisters:Yolande Miller and Netesha Goodwin; brothers: Lorenzo Goodwin (Joanne), Calvin Goodwin, Aaron Benton (Janelle), Dexter Benton, and Tryone Benton; aunts:Mildred Ross, Anita Manuel, Wanda McCoy (Greg);uncles: James McCray (Brenda), Johnny Salter, Ervin Miller, and Reginald Smoak; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
