Mr. Charles Eugene King was born October 21, 1938, to the late S.B. King and Ellie Mae King. He peaceably transitioned from labor to reward on July 27, 2024. He is preceded in death by his wife, Nadine King, daughters, Patricia King and Cynthia King, brothers, Collins King, Robert King (Bob), Henry King, and Leonard King.
Charles was educated in Decatur county schools and made his living as a Cement Mason. He accepted Christ and an early age. He was united in holy matrimony to Nadine Hopkins and to this union 6 children were born. Two preceded him in death (Patricia and Cythia). Despite his failing health, he longed to engage in quality time with his family, especially his children. He left a legacy of love for his children and a strong desire for them all to love each other.
Charles and the late Nadine children left to cherish his memory : Charles King Jr. (Vickie)Jacqueline King, Stacey King, and Martin Luther King .
1 Corinthians 13:4-8 states that “Love suffers long and is kind, love does not envy, love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek it’s own, is not provoked, thinks no evil, does not rejoice in, but rejoices in the truth…. Love never fails!
He increased his family later in life with the late Carlotta Moore leaving to cherish his memory their children: Carlos King, Meyetta King, Collins King and Britany King.
He leaves to cherish his memory of love his sisters Lillian Barber (Thomas) Elder Brendia King, Brothers James Curtis King, S B King Jr (Hazel), one Aunt, Wincey Brockington, and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends.
