Carolyn Reginia Nicholson, born on February 11, 1951 to Leslie and Hattie Copeland in Cumberland County, Virginia. Her parents moved to Paterson, New Jersey in the late fifties, where she was educated in the Paterson School System. After graduating, she was employed with Bell Telephone Company and North Jersey Training School. Carolyn accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age and continued to serve him throughout her life. She lived a daily life of prayer and reading the Word of God. She never wavered in her faith. Carolyn relocated to Georgia in April 1979, where she lived and raised her daughters.
Carolyn often worked multiple jobs; at the time of her death, she was employed with Georgia Pines. She was a hard working, very independent woman, who loved her family dearly.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her mother, Hattie Lavern Copeland and her sister, Brenda S. Lane. She leaves to cherish her memories: her father, Leslie P. Copeland of Paterson, New Jersey; her daughters: Colette Hall (Joseph) of Paterson, New Jersey, Lakeisha Nicholson-Williams (Arnett) of Thomasville, Georgia; her grandchildren: Andre B. Gilyard, Jr.,Tonyqueis Smith, Sr. (Stephanie), Chelsey Riggins and X’zya Riggins; great-grandchildren: Ty’Lin Smith, Colby Gilyard, Tonyqueis Smith, Jr. and Zae’Lee Gardner;nephews: Roosevelt “Billy” Copeland and Michael Copeland (Ashley); great nephew: Anthony Copeland; sister-in-love: Valerie Hunter of Paterson, New Jersey; a special friend LaPorsha Vickers and a host of family and friends.
