A TIME TO BE BORN: Sister Bernice Travis Jones (BO) was born April 11, 1928 in Decatur County, Georgia to the late Herbert and Clara Travis.
A TIME FOR COMMITMENT: Sister Bernice accepted Christ at an early age and was Baptized at Mount Olive Baptist Church. Later, she moved her membership and joined Bride of Christ Baptist Church, where she served until her health failed. Bernice was married to the late Robert L. Jones.
A TIME TO REJOICE: She cherished her two sons, grandchildren, great grandson, family and everyone she met. Bernice worked thirty-one years in the Decatur County School System. She retired in 1992. Her legacy will live on through all those she touched and fed. Even though she will be missed, we know she’s in a better place.
A TIME TO MOURN: She was preceded in death by her late husband, Robert L. Jones, five sisters, Margaret Jones, Vergie McFall, Catherine Valentine, Lucille Guyton and Mildred T. Simmons, two brothers, Edward Travis and Lester Travis.
Bernice leaves to cherish sweet memories of her love, two sons: Gerald T. Jones (Marie) and Terrell L. Jones both of Bainbridge, Georgia; two grandchildren whom she loved very dearly, Veronica Jones of Bainbridge, Georgia and Vanessa Jones of Warner Robins, Georgia; one great grandchild, Jaden Holt and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
