Archie Mae Hopkins (Reels) was born June 11, 1950
to the late Major Hopkins and Annie M. Butler of
Decatur County.
Archie Mae confessed to our Lord and Savior at an
early age.
She was married later to late Arthur Lee Reels who
precedes her in death.
She transitioned into her eternal rest of Thursday January 12,2023 at
Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.
Archie Mae was a devoted member of her
community. She was a foster parent for Decatur
County Family and Children Services and fostered
over 100 children. She was also employed by the City
of Bainbridge as a school crossing guard, and she will
be remembered as waving and blowing her mighty
whistle at Jones Wheat Elementary School. Archie
Mae was also known as “Black Suga” for her DJ
Skills.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter
and her siblings Annie Lou Thomas, Jessie Mae Jakes, Moses Hopkins,
