Willie Powell Obituary

Willie Edward “Bubba” Powell entered this earthly tabernacle on July 17, 1953 to Willie James Powell and Lucy Mae Harris in Amsterdam, Georgia. On Thursday, November 21, 2019, after fighting the good fight he answered the Lord's call. Bubba met and married Annie Jackson Powell on April 24, 1971 and to this union seven children were born. He lived a very happy life filled with laughter and love. He attended Mt. Moriah High School in Attapulgus, Georgia. He accepted Christ at an early age and attended Christ Gospel Church in Cairo, Georgia . He was a very hardworking man who cherished his family and friends. He was employed for many years by The City of Bainbridge. Bubba was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle. He loved his family dearly each of them in their own way. He loved talking with and about his siblings: Florance Thomas (Walter), Carolyn Green, Linda Tripp, Luvernia Harris, Juanita Faulk, Tammie Harris, Geneva Hall, Bobby Powell and Anthony Harris. He was preceded in death by his parents: Willie James Powell and Lucy Mae Harris, a daughter, LaTasha Powell, and a grandson, Octavious Powell. Bubba leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife, Mrs. Annie Jackson Powell of Bainbridge, Georgia; his six children: Willie Powell, Jr. (Janet), Larry Powell, Anitra Samuel (Elizabeth), Christopher Powell (Shenika), Tamekia Powell, and Minnie Johnson, thirty-three grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren and friends.
