Versie Ree Johnson

Versie Ree Johnson was the daughter of the late Noah (Paralee Johnson) and Ethel Mae Johnson. She was born on October 15, 1926 in Donalsonville, Georgia. On the morning of July 13, 2019 she took God hand and peacefully went home. After accepting Christ at an early age, she joined New Berry African Methodist Episcopal  Church, where she served faithfully until her health failed. She was united in marriage to Sam Smith, Sr., who preceded her in death. To this union they were blessed with eight children, one daughter, Ola Jean Smith also preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her memories, four daughters, Queen Horne (David) of Bascom, Florida; Janis Smith of Conyers, Georgia; Dorothy Pauls and Stephanna Smith (Johnny) both of Donalsonville, Georgia; three sons, Sam Smith, Jr., (Carolyn) and Freddie Smith (Jessie) both of Donalsonville, Georgia; and Anthony Smith (Joyce); a loving brother, Willie Johnson of New York City; one sister-in-law, Geraldine Smith of Donalsonville, Georgia and a host of grands, great grands, great-great grands, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
