Deaconess Carolyn Bell was born October 9, 1954 in Cuthbert Georgia to the Late Doc and Jewel Murphy. Sister Carolyn Bell attended the Mount Moriah High School of Attapulgus, Georgia. She confessed Christ at Greenshade A.M.E. Church of Quincy, Florida. She later joined St. Thomas Missionary Baptist Church of Fowlstown, Georgia where she was a devoted church member and served as a Deaconess, President of the Adult Choir for a number of years, Youth Matron of the Junior Choir, and was affectionately known as the “church cheerleader”. Sister Bell was united in Holy Matrimony on October 19, 1974 to Deacon Raymond Bell. She was employed with Elberta Crate Factory for forty years until her retirement. Deaconess Bell departed this walk of Life on October 30, 2019. She was a devoted and loving wife, a wonderful mother, sister, aunt, a devoted choir member and deaconess to the St. Thomas Church Family and a friend to many. Besides that, she was a Christian woman that strived daily to walk upright and served the lord. She’s preceded in death by her parents; Doc and Jewel Murphy, two sisters; Lottie B Miller and Margrine Murray, and her brother; Jessie C. Murphy Sr. She leaves to cherish her precious memories, her devoted and loving husband: Deacon Raymond Bell; three loving children: Subrina Florence (Anthony), Sherry Bell-Parker(Alvin) and Kimberly Bell. Grandchildren: Alvin Parker lll, Ava-Camille Parker, Anthony Florence Jr., Jordan Florence, Terria Ford, and Caden “CJ” Florence. Brothers: Willie B. Murphy (Mary Lee), Marvin Murphy (Betty), Leroy Murphy, and Harvey Murphy. Her sisters: Jessie Lee Wiggins and Mary Long. Godchildren: Charlene Walker and Ayuni Harris; And three special children: Donald Murphy (Liz), Lakisha Donald, and Abria Harris. In addition to her immediate family, she leaves a host of nieces, nephews and friends to cherish her memories.
